Hopefully you'll find the answers to your questions easily and quickly. At the moment all questions relate to my website service.

  • What's included in my site?
    • www.yourwebsitename.com
    • email - yourname@yourwebsitename.com
    • 12 months hosting.
    • 12 revisions to your site per year. Things such as adding news or blog entries, changing some text, adding photos, movies etc.
    • Submission of your site to the major search engines, Google, Yahoo, MSN etc.
    • A sitemap and sitemap.xml file - this helps with the SEO mentioned below.
    • SEO, content and meta tag optimisation - this is a bit technical but is the means by which we make sure that search engines like your site and people can find you when they search for the product or service you provide. You can contact me if you'd like a more detailed explanation of how I do this.
    • Friendly email and phone advice and support.

  • How much will my website cost?
    That very much depends on what you require. I don't do 'stock prices' simply because each situation is different and I provide a tailored, personal service rather than an 'out-of-the-box' solution.

  • Do you require a deposit?
    Yes, I require a 50% deposit in order to start looking for domain names, researching, designing the website etc. The balance is paid after you preview the site online and are happy with it. I have a special 'live' preview domain which you can view on the internet for this purpose.

  • How do I pay?
    I accept PayPal, all major credit and debit cards, cash, cheque, bank transfer and Postal Orders (UK sterling only). Alternatively if you want a website in exchange for a Land Rover 110 Defender 2.5 NAD, 200 or 300Tdi in good mechanical nick (cosmetics be damned) then get in touch quick!

  • How long will it take?
    This depends on how complex your site is and the information I get from you. Most sites are up and running in less than two weeks from the time I have all the information.

  • What information will you require?
    I need as much information about your business as possible. What you do, any images, brochure's, text or logo's you have etc. This can be sent by email or post.
    I can provide a questionnaire which will clarify the information I need if necessary.

  • Do we need to/can we meet?
    Its completely up to you. Everything can be done very easily by telephone, post and email. If you'd like to meet face-to-face I'm based in North London and can either come to your work or home or we can meet for a chat over a coffee if you like. It's your choice.

  • Are there live examples I can see?
    Yes, there is www.pda-now.co.uk. Also you can check out my personal site www.isemann.co.uk which is rough and ready (it's my space to go a bit wild with - please note the style could be anything!). It's a good place to get to know me a bit better but you can also check out this blog entry which fairly accurately sums me up.

  • Why should I choose idlehippy for my website?
    There I was thinking my site would speak for itself, I can see you're a tough nut to crack if you're still reading. Anyhoo - the best way I can answer that is just to say that I always strive very hard to make sure my customers are completely happy. It was this that kept my eBay feedback at 100% positive for over 600 sales since February 2003. I'm proud to say it's still 100% positive.

  • Who owns the site? What about copyright?
    The legal owner of the domain name and website is Rodney Isemann (the real name behind idlehippy) for as long as idlehippy hosts your website. This means you have no ongoing financial or legal responsibilities involving the site, such as hosting costs etc.
    Copyright of text I write remains with me as well as images, icons and graphics I provide.
    Copyright of text and images, icons and graphics you provide remains with you.
    If you move to another hosting or website company you may purchase the domain name for £100 where you will become the legal owner. I will require one months notice in writing.
    Bear in mind you will need to build another site or find another web designer to build a site for you as well as a web hosting company.
